Romances and Poetry Filled the Afternoon “And the Jasmines Bloomed” Dedicated to Milda Day


On May 13, the Chamber Hall of the Šiauliai Cultural Center hosted the afternoon event “And the Jasmines Bloomed”, dedicated to Milda Day – the celebration of the Lithuanian goddess of love. Visitors enjoyed heartfelt romances, folk melodies, and poetry about love, spring, longing, and human closeness.

The event featured performances by the Šiauliai Cultural Center Folklore Ensemble Sidabrinė Gija (artistic director Vita Taučienė-Rezgienė), the Šiauliai Cultural Center Folklore Ensemble Vijolė (artistic director Arūnas Stankus), the Šiauliai Cultural Center Vocal Ensemble Dainora (artistic director Ramutė Majauskienė), the folk singing group “Brydė” of the Bridai Cultural Center (leader Rasa Šiškuvienė), the vocal group “Labas” of the Šiauliai Amateur Arts Association Menų Šaltinis (leaders Virgilijus Nausėda and Virginija Užienė), the vocal ensemble “Ringuva” of the Kužiai Hall of the Gilaičiai Cultural Center (leader Kristina Lučinskaitė), the folk music band “Bytulė” of the Sauginiai Hall of the Gilaičiai Cultural Center (leaders Kristina Lučinskaitė and Regina Krištanavičienė), and song performer Antanas Karnišauskas from the Rudiškiai branch of the Joniškis Cultural Center.

The warm musical gathering brought listeners together for a meaningful afternoon and gifted the audience heartfelt emotions accompanying every performance.
