Neighbourhood Evening in Rėkyva Brought the Community Together

On May 30, 2026, the event “Dancing Rėkyva: A Neighbours’ Evening”, dedicated to Neighbours’ Day, took place in the park of the Rėkyva Cultural House of the Šiauliai Cultural Center, bringing community members together for an evening of shared experiences. The sunny Saturday evening, live music, and children’s laughter created a welcoming atmosphere for meetings, conversations, new friendships, and enjoyable time spent outdoors.

Participants gathered in the park and settled on the grass with their own picnic blankets, enjoying refreshments and snacks. Others chose beanbags or sat at tables with family members, friends, and neighbours. The evening was filled with warm conversations, laughter, and hospitality, as attendees shared the food they had brought, treated one another, and enjoyed the opportunity to spend time together in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Meanwhile, the youngest visitors actively enjoyed the dedicated children’s area. Children jumped on the inflatable trampoline, blew soap bubbles, played together, socialized, and eagerly danced near the stage as music filled the park. Their laughter and energy became an inseparable part of the evening, adding even more life and festive spirit to the event. Activities were available for both younger and older children throughout the celebration.

The atmosphere of the evening was enhanced by performances from the bands ERA and No Name, whose music accompanied the event from beginning to end. Guests listened to songs, spent time together, enjoyed the increasingly summery evening, and appreciated the opportunity to step away from everyday routines, even if only for a short while.

The celebration once again demonstrated that a strong sense of community is built through simple things—being together, engaging in sincere conversations, and sharing time with the people around us. The warm evening in Rėkyva became a wonderful opportunity to strengthen relationships, create new connections, and build shared memories.
