Šiauliai Cultural Center - a week at the creativity camp "Amatų marginys"

June 26-30 A creativity camp for children "Amatų marginys" was held in the Šiauliai Cultural Center.

The week-long camp brought together children aged 7-11 to have fun during the summer holidays. Here, everyone had the opportunity to make new friends, try various educational and recreational activities.

The little campers participated in educational activities in the ''Amatų dirbtuvės'' with educators Kristina Mickūnė and Gintarė Daunytė, making book tabs, soaps, candle containers, reflectors and other items. Kids learned the secrets of music, dance and theater with the art directors of the Šiauliai Cultural Center: Inga Širvienė, art director of the choreography studio "Impresija", Mindaugus Žalalis, art director of the chamber choir "Atžalynas", and Lina Jankauskaitė-Peleckienė, art director of the theater studio "Gūžta". The children spent time not only in the Šiauliai Cultural Center, they also traveled to the STEAM center of the Šiauliai nursery-kindergarten "Berželis", whose manager Laura Zinkevičienė included them in the STEAM activity "Beetle hunters". The children observed the beetles, studied them, and with the help of microscopes they could examine the beetles magnified 50 times. Also, the curious little ones built and programmed with the ''Cubroid'' program.

After the last sessions, the young campers were awarded with certificates. The children returned home with positive emotions, having fun and being inspired to create and improve their creative abilities.

Camps are still being organized in 2023 on July 10-14 and July 31-August 4.
