Currently, the unfavourable situation caused by coronavirus changes the rhythm and habits of all people in Lithuania and around the world. Although the quarantine has been announced in Lithuania until April 13, Šiauliai Culture Centre, in accordance with security recommendations, cancelled the events that were supposed to take place in April, and moved one of the most colourful spring events, Children's Easter, to the virtual space.

“Given the current situation, we decided to present this event in a slightly different form, as the virtual space also provides many opportunities for self-expression and creativity. Easter and Children’s Easter are the most beautiful spring holidays associated with the awakening of nature and the desire to regenerate. We hope that while preparing for these celebrations and decorating the house, the initiatives we have developed will inspire both children and adults creatively, give new ideas, awaken Easter moods and provide no less joy than a real event would have. And all of us really need a lot of joy that would distract our daily routines, especially at the time like this," says Deimantė Bačiulė, the director of Šiauliai Culture Centre.

Traditionally, the event organized by Šiauliai Culture Centre, is full of fun games, creative activities for children, concerts of children and youth. These traditions are also moving into the virtual space. The first episodes of the virtual event "Children's Easter with Šiauliai Culture Center" featured a presentation of the event and taught how to make a fun Easter toy-decoration "Green Friend".

8 more episodes will appear in the virtual space, which will feature a spring song lesson, a theatrical reading of a fairy tale, creative activities that will teach how to make various Easter decorations, traditional Easter games, a choir and dance performances. The amateur art groups of Šiauliai Culture Centre will take part in the classes, they will be led by art directors and organizers of cultural events.

"Now is a great time to prepare for the holidays, decorate the house and spend time with the family in a meaningful way," say the event organizers and invite to follow the information published by Šiauliai Culture Centre on the Internet and creatively welcome Easter and Children’s Easter at home.
